Even as Poonam Pandey is readying herself to shoot for her next film, the actress who became an overnight sensation after her bare dare attitude during India's campaign at the Cricket World Cup, has started trending again after India performed creditably during the India South Africa one day international beating the Proteas Fair and Square.



The hashtag #Poonampandeykobulao was trending alongside every other cricket topic on twitter as cricket fans do not seem to have got enough of this dusky beauty who made her cinematic debut a few months ago with Nasha seems to have become an addiction of sorts for cricket lovers for whom the word strip has become a lot more than the 22 yard strip.

Director Nikhil Advani All Set for a Busy Year Ahead

Bollywood's popular director, Nikhil Advani, has four releases coming up in 2015-2016. The talented director has a chock-a-block schedule starting with 'Hero' that features Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, 'Katti Batti' featuring Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut and 'Airlift' starring Akshay Kumar, Nimrat Kaur and Saurabh Shukla's upcoming film.

With Airlift, this is the first time the director will only be producing a film. Speaking about his busy year, Nikhil says, "Production is an art that my partners and I are committed to mastering. We're grateful to our backers, who are the sustainers of our work philosophies. Above all, we're determined to present our actors in the best way possible".



According to reports, Nikhil was so impressed by a one-page brief of director Raja Menon's 'Airlift' that he is leaving no stone unturned for it. The film just begun shooting in Mumbai and also released the first look of the actors recently. 'Airlift' is produced under the Emmay Entertainment & Motion Pictures - his four-year-old production company along with T-Series and Cape of Good, in strategic partnership with Abundantia Entertainment.

Meanwhile amongst his other projects is 'Hero' which is in the final stages of post production and the shooting for 'Katti Batti' is on. Actor-director Saurabh Shukla's unnamed film is in the scripting phase and will be set to go on floors later this year.

Dibakar warns Censor?

Dibakar Banerjee says that decisions regarding a movie's content should be left to the filmmakers and the audience, and that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) should only be entrusted with certifying movies appropriately.

"The issue will resolve only when the people who watch films and who make films will come together and say, 'Let us decide what we want to see and what we'll make'. You (Censor Board) just decide that the film should be watched by this age group or under this age group," said the "Shanghai" filmmaker.

Banerjee spoke on the sidelines of an event, where three books based on screenplays of the late Guru Dutt's productions, were launched.

Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra too was present at the event.

He slammed CBFC for recently issuing a list of words, which filmmakers cannot use in their movies. He says it's ridiculous and senseless.



"If there is any film which have such words, then make it adult (certified). How it is possible that a filmmaker will not use these words? According to me, it's ridiculous and senseless thing to say people you can't say this (in films)," he said.

The "PK" producer also said the Censor Board authorities should not misuse their power.

"The more power you'll (government) give them, the more they will (Censor Board members) misuse. Their power should be simple...they should certify films -- like under 12, under 16, under 18, adult," he said.

'Baby doll' singer to get 'classical'

After getting recognized for her hit peppy numbers like "Baby doll", "Lovely" and "Chittiyaan kalaiyaan", singer Kanika Kapoor says she will now sing more of classical Indian numbers this year to popularise the genre in the Hindi film industry.

"I will bring the classical music back very soon...This year people will listen more of it from me. I have my Youtube channel coming up which will demonstrate some classical tracks which I'm creating," Kanika told IANS.

The 33-year-old, who was here to shoot the music video of localised version of internationally known DJ Alesso's single "Heroes (We Could Be)", also said that the music trends are driven by the listeners.

Stressing on the fact that Indian classical is her "personal favourite", she said: "It doesn't mean that people should like it too. They have their own personal choice -- some like classical, others like Sufi - it all depends on listeners' choice.

"People who like classical don't like the commercial tracks. Much of the Indian listeners are not aware of the classical songs and they feel happy being restricted to peppy ones. Music makes one happy, it destresses the mind. So, a typical genre doesn't matter...it should be dependent on the listener and what he wants to listen."

Kapoor also said the Indian music market has widened the scope for young singers to showcase their talent.



"Indian music industry has opened up to new singers. It has widened a lot. Earlier, there were only Lataji (Lata Mangeshkar), Ashaji (Asha Bhosle) and Alka Yagnikji, but now listeners look forward to listen to new singers," she added.

However, she feels that the dominance of film music has made it tough for singers to come out with their own singles.

Recently, Kapoor received a positive response for her singles "Chhil Gaye Naina" and "Desi Look", and soon she will be seen cheering up for the Indian cricket team, who are currently vying the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in Australia, with her Hindi version of the song "Heroes (We Could Be)", to be released by Universal Music India.

Talking about the track, she added: "It's a fun version of the song that we have made for our cricket team. It will give moral support and strength to them. I hope that India retains the World Cup."

Aditya Chopra's company has one more Cinderella story.

After Parineeti, it's Bhumi Pednekar , who is the new heroine. Weighing 85 kgs, she is obviously here to change the way we look at heroines.

Rani Mukherji was at YRF recently where she saw portions of the film starring Bhumi.

Rani was amazed to see the confidence and screen presence Bhumi had and asked the team to inform her whenever she is around as she personally wanted to meet Bhumi.

Bhumi has been part of YRF for a while now... she has been assisting Shanoo in the casting department.

Her role primarily was to ensure things are in order for casting.... like the names of participants , the script which needs to be given to them, keeping record of the screen test tapes.

Bhumi has been part of the casting for Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and a few other celebrities who are part of the talent wing of the leading production house.

In fact Bhumi was also looking into the casting for Maardani and that's when she had interacted with Rani closely.



However it never occurred to Rani or anyone at YRF that Bhumi could be casted herself.

Rani was impressed by the way Bhumi has rendered to the script. She was amazed at her journey from assistant to heroine.

Rani who is a superb actnlor herself was high on praise for Bhumi's acting powerness.

Rani later in the day met Bhumi personally and gave her feedback.

Rafiq Gangjee of YRF confirms and adds, "Bhumi Pednekar is probably the 30th heroine being launched by YRF. She has been getting a lot of appreciation from everyone - talent, directors, writers... all are amazed to see her in this new atypical role which does not conform to any stereotype.

Sarah Jane Dias is making a grand comeback to films.Have stayed away from films for a while, Sarah Jane will now be seen in a movie directed by Reema Kagti which is to be produced by Excel Entertainment.

The film which has already been in news for its casting back and forth, has now roped in Sarah Jane for a pivotal role in Mr. Chaalu. While not much is known of her character, Sarah will join the rest of the cast, Kangana Ranaut, Richa Chadha and Pooja Bhatt. Confirming the news, Sarah said, "It was an exciting opportunity. The actress has been receiving a lot of acclaim for her role in the recently released film, Badlapur.

She has played a very crucial role in the film that drives the emotions and everyone who has seen it has found her performance very impactful. The feedback has also been that she looks lovely and effortless on screen.

This was the first time that she was paired opposite Varun Dhawan and their chemistry is being loved by audiences at large.

Yami's co stars Sidharth Malhotra, with whom she has worked on a series of advertisements of a popular ice cream brand and Pulkit Samrat with whom she is working in her next, took to twitter and expressed their appreciation after watching the film.

Shot in the dark: A production house has threatened to fire this actor

A production house has threatened to oust this actor if he continues throwing tantrums

This young actor, who has not had much success at the box office of late, has raised the hackles of a production house that launched him. A source says he has been warned about being shown the door if he did not stop throwing tantrums.

"Of all the actors managed by the company, this particular person has been taking things for granted as he hails from an influential Bollywood family. Despite his films faring badly at the box office, he has been offered a few projects. But he insisted that the scripts be sent to his father for approval," adds the source.



The actor's attitude and approach to film offers did not go down well with the production house's talent management wing. "They held a meeting with him and clearly told him that he would be ousted if he did not mend his ways," says another source.

Ouch! Married Ayushmann got slapped

Bhumi Pednekar will be seen making her debut with Dum Laga ke Haisha. In a crucial scene in the film Bhumi had to slap Ayushmann Khurrana. However the debutant was very hesitant to give this shot.

The scene required her to be very angry and slap Ayushmann in the face. However, she flinched every time she went to slap him.

She was very conscious and tensed about the act as she had to slap him.

She had to give multiple takes for the same as the timing of the slap was not perfect. After the 6th or 7th take, Ayushmann joked about how Bhumi is enjoying this scene and so purposely doing this.



Ayushmann then had a serious conversation with Bhumi and made her comfortable about the slap.

After the mini pep-talk from Ayushmann, Bhumi isolated herself for 15 minutes and when they came back she delivered the shot brilliantly.

Box office: 'Badlapur' unaffected by the ongoing cricket World Cup

Varun Dhawan starrer 'Badlapur' opens on encouraging note at the box office, not quite affected by the ongoing cricket World Cup

The Varun Dhawan-starrer Badlapur has given hope of good business to exhibitors as theatres finding several takers for the crime thriller. The film has grossed Rs 23.50 crore in three days, although it is a tad less than the collections of the actor's last film 'Main Tera Hero'.

Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says, "The film's business grew on the second day and dropped only marginally on Sunday - by Rs 50 lakh - due to the India-South Africa cricket match. The other release, 'Qissa', has had a dismal weekend."

In spite of violence and gore, 'Badlapur' has drawn cine-goers with its word-of-mouth publicity. Trade analyst Amod Mehra said, "For an A-rated film made on a modest budget, the film had a good opening, especially in multiplexes. The collections improved on Saturday and remained almost steady on Sunday though it had the India-South Africa match as competition. If the film sustains in the week days, the collections will go up."



Around three films are lined up for release this Friday - 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha', 'Ab Tak Chhappan 2' and 'Hey Bro'. But exhibitors are not anticipating any fireworks. Vishal Anand of Fun Cinemas says, "Last weekend was better than average. But, for the next few weeks we can't bank on the films for doing good business."

Shahid, Kareena and Alia's payment for 'Udta Punjab' put on hold?

Star cast of Abhishek Chaubey's 'Udta Punjab' will apparently have to go without pay till a film studio comes on board

Abhishek Chaubey's upcoming thriller 'Udta Punjab' has been making news for quite some time now. First, there was uncertainty over lead actor Shahid Kapoor's availability, and when his ex-flame, Kareena Kapoor Khan gave her nod to the film, albeit on the condition that they would not share a single frame.

Now we hear a major film studio, which was backing the project, has pulled out of it. With that, Anurag Kashyap-led Phantom Films remains the sole producer. However, the makers are apparently raring to go ahead with the shoot from next month.

An industry insider says, "It will start rolling in Punjab from March 1. The actors have been told that they will get their remuneration only when a film studio comes on board. They have agreed to this condition as they loved the script. As of now, Phantom will be funding the film."



Nevertheless, the makers are on an intense hunt for a production partner, say sources. "After this particular studio backed out of the project, they approached several producers, but without success. However, the search is still on," says a source.

'Udta Punjab', which revolves around the drug mafia and drug abuse in Punjab, stars Alia Bhatt and Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh apart from Shahid and Bebo.

Chaubey remained unavailable for comment.

Evelyn goes Indian for Ishqedaariyan

Evelyn Sharma has so far enjoyed the game of being a glamorous face and essaying memorable role oozing of sultry. But looks like for her first ever solo lead, Evelyn will be seen in a de-glam Indian avatar a complete opposite of what the audience have seen of her so far.

Evelyn is really excited to show a different side of hers that not many have seen so far. Speaking on this, Evelyn said, "I'm starring opposite Mahakshay. The film has been shot in beautiful locales of Himachal, Georgia and the United States".



Adding to this Evelyn said, "So far I have been part of ensemble movie and played glamorous parts but with a solo lead there's a lot more pressure to perform". The first poster of film was recently released at an event and the film will hit theatres on April 24th.

Salman's worst nightmare may come true on Feb 25?

A court in Jodhpur will Wednesday pronounce its judgment in a case of possession and use of illegal arms by Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

"The case relates to both possession and use of illegal arms and the chief judicial magistrate's court has kept Feb 25 for judgment," public prosecutor N.K. Sankhla of the court in Jodhpur, 330 km from Rajasthan capital Jaipur, told IANS Tuesday.

Salman Khan is likely to be present in court during pronouncement of the judgment.

He and a few other Bollywood stars were accused of poaching blackbucks on the midnight of Oct 1-2, 1998 during the shooting of Hindi movie "Hum Saath Saath Hain".



Two blackbucks, a protected animal under the Wildlife Protection Act, were killed on the outskirts of Kankani village near Jodhpur.

The star was also accused of carrying and using illegal arms. He is also alleged to have been carrying arms with expired license.

A police complaint was filed against Salman Khan on charges of being involved in hunting of the protected blackbucks.

OMG! Poonam strips again for Team India!

Model-turned-actress and social media sensation Poonam Pandey displayed her love and excitement for the Indian team at their ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 match against South Africa on Sunday by stripping and uploading raunchy pictures of herself on Twitter.

Poonam Pandey treated her fans and followers by shedding clothes and posting photos of her strip-tease on every South African wicket that fell.

It is no surprise that Poonam was seen trending on Twitter with the hashtag #PoonamPandeyKoBulao.



This is not the first time Poonam Pandey has stripped for Team India. She first entered the limelight after promising to strip if the Indian cricket team won the World Cup in 2011. She kept the interest going by posting sensuous photos and videos of herself on her Twitter and Facebook pages. She was expecting a big break from her Bollywood debut 'Nasha', but that film bombed at the box office.

'Piku' to have an unusual promotional strategy?

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who surprises his fans with each film, says "unusual works" will back his next movie "Piku".

"The shoot for the PR of 'Piku' has begun and there are some most unusual works being done. Today we were a part of it along with Deepika (Padukone) and Irrfan (Khan). Unfortunately, I am not permitted to expose them here, but may I just say that they all look rather unusual and hilarious," the 72-year-old wrote on his official blog srbachchan.tumblr.com Monday.

Big B will be seen playing the role of Deepika's father in the film, which is directed by Shoojit Sircar, and majorly shot in Kolkata.

Meanwhile, remembering the shooting days of 1976 drama-thriller film "Do Anjaane", Amitabh also posted a black and white photograph in which he is shooting for the song "Luk chup luk chup".

"This is Calcutta 1975 and the shooting of a delightful film 'Do Anjaane'. 'Deewar' had just released the previous day of travel to the city and the reception at Grand Hotel and the city was phenomenal...getting in and out of the Hotel was an army operation," he wrote.



"This moment was the shooting of a song 'Luk chup luk chup jaao naa...' with the little kid. It was shot at the famous Botanical Gardens across the river Hoogly," he added.

Big B says he used to carry a camera with him to capture moments on shootings. In the photograph, he is seen clicking the crowd on the other side of the lake.

After the public's reaction against Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan has not taken any sides over the 'AIB Knockout' controversy and said that 'if you don't like something don't watch it'.

The 'AIB Roast' controversy refuses to die down, with Bollywood celebrities being asked to react on it every second day. Recently, superstar Shah Rukh Khan also exprssed his opinion on the the issue.

'King Khan' though did not take any sides on the controversy since he felt, "humour is a tricky thing and will always invoke different reactions from people".


When asked about the celebrity roast involving Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, the actor while saying that he believes in humour, was still careful with his words as an entertainer.

"I am someone who has always believed in sense of humour. Over the years my sense of humour is rounded off if not completely over. I have learnt to curtail it because there is always going to be a thin line when it comes to humour. It is always going to invoke radical reaction, either you are going to laugh at it or hate it," Shah Rukh said in an interview.

"When you are a popular actor like I am, people listen to you... So, you need to relook at it and I am only speaking about myself here. There will always be issues and questions. I can't take any sides."


The members of the online group had to remove the video from YouTube earlier this month after some people objected to the language and jokes used in the roast.

Shah Rukh, 49, said the power of choice is always with people.

"There is always freedom of expression and there is a choice you have to make. I always say that if you don't like something don't watch it. Nobody is shoving it down your throat but if you don't like something and you have watched it then live with it. There are a lot of movies that I have watched and don't like but I don't have the right to go and blame the person who made them.


"The beauty of today's media is that the power of choice is in your hand, you can decide to watch or not watch something. But having said that, I think I have become very aware of the fact that I need to follow some control aspect... But I will not be able to comment on what others do, how they do or why they do."
