First time pairing of Aishwarya and Ranbir keeps you hooked

What's there in Parineeti's mind

It has been five years since Parineeti Chopra entered the film industry. The actor admits that she is still getting used to the ways of Bollywood, especially in the face of unsubstantiated stories and rumours. `That's the unfortunate bit, and that is why you constantly have to explain yourself. But that's fine. It's part of the job` she says.

`It's great that I got some time off [after completing Kill Dil; 2014]. Even emotionally, the amount of enjoyment that I get out of working now, and the commitment I have towards it, is much more. Plus, my focus is greater. I was a banker and I have an academic background. So, for me to get used to how the film industry functions is a huge thing (smiles).`

Parineeti, who impressed filmgoers with her sizzling avatar in the song 'Jaaneman aah' from Dishoom, says talent and looks are equally important for her. `Because you might be the greatest actor, but it's also important to look every part. That could mean looking glamorous, fit or even fat, as per the character's requirements,` she says.



Last year, in December, Parineeti's fitness photo shoot made her the talk of town. `I wanted to show the power I have as a girl. So, when my image makeover got highlighted in the song ('Jaaneman aah'), I was really excited,` says the actor.

Although Parineeti has changed her girl-next-door image with the photo shoot and the song, the actor says she `wasn't nervous at all`. `In fact, I was thinking, 'I'm finally getting to do this.' I didn't struggle with it. It was inside me, and I just had to take it out. I am excited to do everything right now - to dance, look sexy and be a Bollywood heroine (laughs),` she says.

'I will continue to look for characters that challenge me', says Diana Penty

Diana Penty, who returned to the big screen with Happy Bhag Jayegi after a gap of four years, is glad she waited it out. The Indo-Pak comedy, in which she played the exuberant titular character, has been declared a sleeper hit by industry pundits - and her performance, lauded for its sincerity and promise.

After Cocktail, her starry debut in 2012, the actor made the unusual decision to fly under the radar while she waited for her next project. `Cocktail was such a wonderful experience and the perfect launch vehicle. As a first time actor, it was helpful to play Meera, a character who was so much like me in real life.` Her second film, however, she knew, would need to push her. `I wanted to see if I could play a character who was as different from me as possible. Happy fit the bill perfectly.`



Penty does not regret the time-lapse between the two films.`I got to do all the things I loved even while I waited for the right script,` she says. She packed in travel, endorsements, appeared on the covers of the country's leading fashion magazines and even redecorated her home from scratch. "There was never a dull moment!" she adds.

Will the wait for her next film be quite as long? "I hope not!" she laughs. "I will continue to look for interesting stories to be part of and characters that challenge me."

On the rift between Mia and Nikhil, Sunny said, `I think it's the jealousy of the friendship. The friendship among the four of them is stronger than any connection here. You have to take the word group out of your sentence. It is a problem. Mia hangs on to every word Nikhil says. Mia does it all.`
