Ranbir Kapoor’s Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani earned Rs. 105 crore (1050 million) approx on its first weekend worldwide. The film tells a story of four friends who set out on a journey. In this trip, a lot of things happen. The amazing romance drama film featured Ranbir Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin, Kunal Roy Kapoor.
9 Singham Returns
Directed by Rohit Shetty, action drama film Singham Return, which is a sequel of 2011 film Singham, minted Rs. 119 crore (1190 million) approx on its opening weekend worldwide. Singham Returns starred Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Amole Gupte, Anupam Kher and many more. The film told the story of an honest cops and his fight with against disloyalty, dirt in the society and corruption. The film did an amazing business at the Box Office.
8 Bang Bang
Director Siddharth Anand’s action thriller film Bang Bang, which is an official remake of Hollywood film Knight and Day, was all about action, action and action! The film did a good job at the Box Office worldwide and collected Rs. 123 crore (1230 million) on its first weekend. Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starrer film is also one of the most expensive India films ever made! Bang Bang was made on the budget of Rs. 140 Crores.
7 Kick
Salman Khan’s yet another film happens to be one of the most expensive films made in India. Directed by Sajid Nadiadwala’s action drama film Kick was made on the total expense of Rs. 100 crores. The film did an amazing business at the Box Office and collected Rs. 126 crore (1260 million) approx on its first weekend worldwide. The film not only earned its production cost but also triple of what was actually put behind it!
6 Bajrang Bhaijaan
Salman Khan not only kicked his Kick’s first day collections but also its opening weekend worldwide record with Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s massive success at the Box Office. Director Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan earned Rs. 150.60 crore (1506 million) approx on its first weekend worldwide. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Harshaali Malhotra and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
5 Chennai Express
On its first weekend at the Box Office worldwide, the film collected Rs. 160 crore (1600 million) approx. Directed by Rohit Shetty, stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Nikitin Dheer. The film told the story of how a man’s trip to fulfill his late grandfather’s last wish, take an unexpected turn as he meets an unique and beautiful young woman.
4 Baahubali
On its first weekend, Baahubali collected Rs. 162 crore (1620 million) approx worldwide. Showing some of the finest graphics we have ever seen, Baahubali’s trailer shows the epic war between two brothers to become the ruler of their kingdom. The trailer takes us through the entire journey of the character Baahubali, who is worshipped as a demigod.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film has been produced by K. Raghavendra Rao, Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni. Arka Media Works is the Production Company and distributers of Baahubali. National Award winners V. Srinivas Mohan and Sabu Cyril have supervised the amazing visual effects and designed art of the film respectively. The film released in four different languages namely Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam. First half of the film released on July 10.
3 Happy New Year
Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year stands still on 3rd spot in the list with worldwide first weekend collections of Rs. 174 crore (1740 million) approx.
The heist film Happy New Year by director Farah Khan was a complete entertainer. With music, drama, love story and action, this perfect package featured Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani and Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah.
2 PK
Aamir Khan’s very controversial and quickly successful film PK ranks 2nd in the list with first weekend worldwide collections of Rs. 175 crore (1750 million) approx. The day “PK” was released; the film received a lot of negative reviews, comments and even received threats from several religious groups. But it didn’t stop Rajkumar Hirani’s PK from progressing and breaking records. The film featured Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput.
1 Dhoom 3
Not only has he captured the second spot but also the first. Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 ranks first in the list with opening weekend worldwide collections of Rs. 198 crore (1980 million) approx. Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 was a big budget film with huge star cast. Director Vijay Krishna Acharya action thriller film was made on a huge budget. The film was made on the total expense of Rs. 125 crores. Dhoom 3 starred Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Jackie Shroff.
