Now Sonu Sood gets police protection

After Shah Rukh Khan, Boman Irani and Karim Morani, Sonu Sood is the fourth name from 'Happy New Year' to be provided with police cover

Actor Sonu Sood has been given protection by the Mumbai police. The actor plays one of the leads in Farah Khan's film, Happy New Year.

Sources say that actors associated with this film have been given security after underworld don Ravi Pujari allegedly threatened its producer Karim Morani. Pujari is said to have asked Morani to allot a SLAM show - one of the promotional events for the film - to one of his friends; a source says that Sonu too has received threatening messages.

As a result, the Mumbai police has decided to provide security as a precautionary measure to the film's cast and to those who have received calls and extortion messages from Pujari in the last three years. Boman Irani is among those who have been given police protection; Sonu Sood is, in fact, the fourth member of HNY's cast to get police cover. Sonu Sood was unavailable for comment.
