Filmmaker Karan Johar who had exploited his acting talent in
a brief role in 1995 blockbuster ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, followed it up
with a full-fledged role in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’.
It appears the ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ director is yearning to act
in films as he has asked Anurag to write another role for him.
"@anuragkashyap72 in london! About to start filming
soon! Write another role fast for me! The actor in me is exploding," Karan
wrote on micro-blogging site on Tuesday, December 1.
Karan was seen in the negative role of media baron Kaizad
Khambata in ‘Bombay Velvet’ that starred Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. The film
was a screen adaptation of Gyan Prakash’s book ‘Mumbai Fables’.
Set in the 1960s of Bombay, the film brought back retro days
on the silver screen. ‘Bombay Velvet’ is about a man with big dreams and the
extent he is willing to go to be successful. However, the film was a big
disaster at the box office.
Meanwhile, Karan is busy with his upcoming project ‘Ae Dil
Hai Mushkil’ which stars his ‘Bombay Velvet’ co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka
Sharma. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who made a comeback on the silver-screen post
motherhood in October with ‘Jazbaa’, is also cast in the film. Pakistani actors
Imran Abbas and Fawad Khan will also be seen in the movie.
‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is being highly anticipated because
Karan is donning the hat of a director after a gap of three years. His last
directorial was ‘Student of the Year’ in 2012. ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is slated
to release on Diwali next year.
