Veteran actresses Sridevi and Jaya Prada seem to have ended
their cold war as the divas shared a warm hug and bonded at the wedding reception
of Jaya’s son Siddharth on Sunday. Both the stars exuded elegance and looked
stunning.
While Sridevi was spotted in a white net Sabyasachi sari,
the groom’s mother went traditional in a golden Kanjeeveram with matching
jewellery. The two super hit actresses who were considered ‘arch rivals of the
1980s’, had worked together in many films like ‘Tofah’, ‘Aulaad’ and ‘Akhri
Rasta’.
The two timeless beauties were reportedly at war with each
other for over 25 years, but they buried their hatchet earlier this year, thanks
to politician and mediator Amar Singh.
As per reports, Jaya once commented that she is beautiful by
birth, and that Sridevi underwent surgery to enhance her looks. Apparently,
while shooting for the film ‘Maqsad’, co-stars Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra
locked Jaya and Sridevi in the same makeup room, hoping for a truce between
them, but in vain. Over the years, they didn't share screen space and even
refused to acknowledge each other's presence in public. However, all seems to
have been forgiven and forgotten by now.
Siddharth who is all set to make his film debut with Tamil film
‘Uyire Uyire’, tied the knot with Pravallika Reddy, a doctor at a private
ceremony in Hyderabad.
Sridevi was accompanied by her husband Boney Kapoor. Telugu superstar
Chiranjeevi along with wife Surekha also blessed the newlyweds. Other
celebrities from regional cinema like Mohan Babu, Radhikaa Sarathkumar, Vishnu
Manchu, K Raghavendra Rao, Allu Aravind among others were present.
A handful of politicians including former Uttar Pradesh
chief minister Mulayam Singh and Amar Singh were also spotted at the wedding.
