National Award winning director Sachin Kundalkar has been
roped in by the young producer Vidhi Kasliwal along with two top
actresses of Marathi cinema, Sai Tamhankar and Priya Bapat in her next
feature `Vazandar.` An exciting slice-of-life film produced under the
banner of Landmarc Films, Vazandar, being the quirky story of 2 friends,
will see the two actresses known for their amazing screen presence and
histrionics in never-before roles. So much so that the duo have worked
hard to change their appearance, not once but twice, to suit the demands
of their roles, in the film. `The dedication of the twosome towards
their characters can be seen on screen. I can't wait for the audience to
experience it,` says producer Vidhi Kasliwal, a new generation
filmmaker, who began her maiden foray in direction with Rajshri
Productions' Isi Life Mein and produced Marathi film Sanngto Aika,
starring Sachin, Vaibhav Mangle and Bhau Kadam, besides many
award-winning English documentaries.
Vidhi Kasliwal believes in Marathi cinema and its impact. `Marathi films have large and diverse audiences, now. The recent collection of films shows that there is a strong set of youth who love watching entertaining and meaningful films. Vazandar targets these youngsters. From our sample survey, we found a very enthusiastic set of youngsters who have loved our subject. We are looking forward to our film hitting the silver screen next year.`
Besides Sai Tamhankar and Priya Bapat together, Landmarc Films' Vazandar, produced by Vidhi Kasliwal and directed by Sachin Kundalkar, also stars Siddharth Chandekar, Chirag Patil and Chetan Chitnis essaying major roles.
Vidhi would like the rest to remain a mystery till the first look of the film is unveiled. `Film is a visual medium. A few words can never replace the joy of discovering something in moving images.`
