Bollywood veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Dhremendra made a
comeback as the inseparable friends Jai and Veeru in the final episode of Big B’s
show ‘Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi’.
Amitabh and Dharmendra recreated the magic of their
friendship as Jai and Veeru in the iconic film ‘Sholay’ by arriving on the
stage in a motorcycle with a sidecar, 40 years later. The memorable song ‘Yeh Dosti
Hum Nahi Todenge’ was picturised on both of them riding a bike with a sidecar
in the 1975 blockbuster by Ramesh Sippy.
Big B shared a few photos of the show’s final episode on his
social network in which Dharmendra is riding the bike while he is standing on
the sidecar. Both the actors were as jolly as they had been in the film.
“When Viru and Jai met on 'Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi', then
'Ye dosti hum nahin todenge' happened. The song is so prevailing even after 40
years. Very less we get to see this. Those were the days,” Amitabh wrote along
with the photograph.
‘Sholay’ which released on August 15, 1975 also starred
Sanjeev Kumar Amjad Khan, Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan. It is considered one
of the biggest classics of Indian cinema.
Besides Dharmendra, the final episode of the show will also
feature his son Sunny Deol and actors Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor.
‘Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi’ honours the unsung heroes who have
contributed towards the upliftment of society at large.
