After the romantic song ‘Gerua’ and hip hop ‘Manma Emotion
Jaage’, Rohit Shetty’s soon-to-release film ‘Dilwale’ is out with another song
titled ‘Janam Janam’.
The romantic song features Bollywood’s most loved on-screen
pair Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Shah Rukh charms with his bearded look and his
chemistry with the beautiful Kajol in flowy skirts is captivating. The rains
add to the romance in the atmosphere.
While ‘Gerua’ was reminiscent of Yash Chopra films because
of the scenic beauty, ‘Janam Janam’ takes us back to the black and white era.
The song also recreates an iconic moment from the song ‘Pyaar
Hua Ikraar Hua’ featuring Raj Kapoor and Nirgis from film ‘Shree 420’. Just
like the legendary pair, Shah Rukha and Kajol are seen under one umbrella. But
unlike Raj Kapoor and Nargis who hold the umbrella throughout the song, the ‘Dilwale’
couple does away with it and dance in the rain.
There is also a ballroom sequence which is reminiscent of the
pair’s ‘Rukja Oh Dil Deewani’ from the cult romance ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le
Jayenge’. It has been 20 years since the film released in 1995, but the magic
of Shah Rukh and Kajol’s pairing hasn’t diminished a bit.
The heart-warming love song has been written by Amitabh
Bhattacharya and composed by Pritam. Arijit Singh’s soulful voice is overwhelming
and Antara Mitra beautifully supports with the female vocals. Both the singers
have also sung for ‘Gerua’.
Shah Rukh and Kajol have come together in ‘Dilwale’ after a
gap of five years after their last film ‘My Name Is Khan’.
Also starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon among others, ‘Dilwale’
is set to hit theatres on December 18.
