Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma
earned the wrath of twitteratis after she wrongly spelt the name of the
deceased former president APJ Abdul Kalam in her tribute. She later clarified
that it was an “honest mistake” ant that her “intentions were correct”.
According to reports, Anushka took
three attempts to get the correct spelling of the late president. Her first
tweet spelled the name as ‘ABJ Abdul Kalam Azad’. After some users pointed out
her mistake, she corrected it to ‘APJ Abdul Kalam Azad’. Only in the final
attempt did she get the name correct.
Her final tweet-tribute read, “Very
sad to hear about the passing of APJ Abdul Kalam . Loss of an inspiring
visionary and a wonderful soul .May his soul RIP.”
The ‘NH10’ actress had admitted
her blunder, but was intolerant towards those who criticised her. Talking to
the media at an event on July 28, Anushka said, “It was an honest mistake and
even though I got trolled, I don't care because my intentions were correct.
They are cowards, faceless people who comment sitting behind a computer. Do that
to my face and we will see.”
Former president APJ Abdul Kalam passed
away on July 27 following a cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at the
IIM Shillong.
