Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone on Thrusday visited the Siddhivinayak
Temple in Mumbai, along with her mother Ujjala Padukone a day ahead of the
release of her movie ‘Tamasha’.
The ‘Om Shanti Om’ actress was thronged by her fans as she
made way for the temple to offer prayers and seek blessings of the diety. She
greeted her fans and waved at them as she left the temple.
She was dressed in a white kurta and golden palazzo pants
and pearl drops adorned her ears. She also sported sunglasses. Her mother
turned out in denims and floral-printed shirt and had a shawl wrapped around
her shoulders.
Deepika will be seen opposite her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor
in ‘Tamasha’. It is the third movie of Ranbir and Deepika together after ‘Bachna
Ae Haseeno’ in 2008 and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ which released two years ago in
2013. The couple share a sizzling chemistry on screen and they have even been compared
with the iconic onscreen couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
Speaking to The Indian Express, the actress said, “Whenever
my film releases, I come here to pray. This time also I am following this,
praying for ‘Tamasha’. It has become a ritual for me.”
Deepika had earlier visited the place in May this year ahead
of the release of ‘Piku’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan.
When asked if she had prayed for her co-star Ranbir also,
she affirmed and said, “Yes I did. Ranbir is a talented actor and nobody can
take away that from him. The ups and down in life are very common and can
happen to anybody. I am not worried for him at all. I saw the movie last night
and he is outstanding.”
The success of ‘Tamasha’ is very important for Ranbir as her
last three releases – ‘Bombay Velvet’, ‘Besharam’ and ‘Roy’ did not do well at
the box office.
A special screening of the film was held on Wednesday night
at Mumbai’s Yash Raj Studios which as attended by Ranbir, Deepika, as well as
Deepika’s parents and her alleged beau Ranveer Singh. Director Imtiaz Ali and
produceder Sajid Nadiadwala also attended the screening.
‘Tamasha’ is releasing tomorrow, November 27.
Deepika will next be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao
Mastani' opposite her alleged boyfriend Ranveer Singh. The film also stars
Priyanka Chopra among others and is set to hit screens next month.
