Sonam’s husband Mayank told police that he and his wife had a heated discussion after reading a newspaper report on Aamir Khan’s statement.
The deceased’s father-in-law R P Pandey, a retired veterinary surgeon, said that Sonam was a die-hard Aamir Khan fan. “When my son made fun of Aamir Khan who wanted to settle abroad on the advice of his wife, she got upset and ran into her room and locked herself in,” he said.
After a while, they heard a screaming and Mayank went in and found her vomiting. They immediately rushed her to a private nursing home where she died on Thrusday.

"We are told by the family that there was marital discord.... We are waiting for the post-mortem report," Inspector Srivastava said. "Since the deceased was married barely three years ago, we are not ruling out anything," he added.
