Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi who has earned the tag of ‘serial
kisser’, will take on the tag once again in the upcoming biographical film on
former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin titled ‘Azhar’.
The biopic will not only portray Azharuddin’s cricket career
and match-fixing controversy, but will also bring to the screen his personal
which was mirred in affairs, divorce and remarriage.
Keeping in tune with the cricketer’s real life romance, Emraan
who essays the role of Azhar will lock lips with on screen love interests in
the film. He will have not one but several kisses in the film.
Emraan confirmed this recently during the media interaction
at the launch of his new single ‘Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon’ which also features
his ‘Jannat 2’ and ‘Raaz 3’ co-star Esha Gupta.
Talking to reporters, the ‘Humari Adhuri Kahaani’ actor
said, “In biopics people kiss and I am sure Azhar also has kissed. In fact
biopics lend themselves more into that. Kissing scenes are there in the movie.”
The 36-year-old actor, who is sporting a clean shaven look
for the film, said that he has shaved his face clean after 15 long years. He
also added that his cricketing skills have improved as Azharuddin himself has
been coaching him for the biopic.
Emraan also said that he will be returning for the shoot
soon, as a couple of weeks shooting is yet to be completed and the film will wrap
up by December.
Directed by Tony D’Souza, ‘Azhar’ will project on screen the
three important phases of the cricketer’s life – “Khuda, shaadi and the
match-fixing case,” as producer Ekta Kapoor put it.
The film will feature three leading ladies, Prachi Desai who
will play the role of Azhar’s first wife Naureen, Nargis Fakhri will essay
former Bollywood actress and his second wife Sangeeta Bijlani, and Huma Qureshi
who will be seen as badminton player Jwala Gutta, who is said to be the reason
behind Azhar’s split with Sangeeta.
The film will also feature Gautam Gulati of ‘Bigg Boss 8’ fame,
Manjot Singh and Kunaal Roy Kapur. ‘Azhar’ is set to hit theatres in May next
year.
