Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has
been roped in to star in Salman Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Sultan’, the shooting
for which had already begun last month.
Randeep who had shared screen
space with the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ actor in ‘Kick’, will be playing the role of
Salman’s coach in the film based on wrestling.
Salman prefers to work in an easy
environment and he shared a great equation with Randeep while working for ‘Kick’
and has developed a liking for the ‘Main Aur Charles’ actor. Salman recommended
Randeep’s name for the role of wrestling coach as the demanded someone with a
good physique and strong personality.
"Director
Ali Abbas Zafar was searching for someone to play Salman's wrestling coach. The
role needed someone tall with a good physique and persona. It's a meaty role.
Salman felt that Randeep fits the bill, so he recommended Randeep's name. The
team then approached Randeep and he agreed to come on board," a DNA report
quoted a source as saying.
Randeep, who
has lost around 20 kilos for his role in Omung Kumar’s biopic ‘Sarabjit’, will
now once again put on weight and will also undergo training and wrestling lessons
to prepare for his role in ‘Sultan’.
Earlier,
there were several speculations and rumours regarding the actor to play the
role of Salman’s wrestling coach in the film. Names of Hollywood star Sylvester
Stallone and Sanjay Dutt had cropped up. Howeve, latest reports suggest that
the ‘Highway’ actor has signed the film and has joined the ‘Sultan’ cast.
The name of
female lead of the film has also not been revealed yet, but names of actresses
like Parineeti Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma are doing the
rounds.
‘Sultan’ is
being produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films and is slated to release
on the occasion of Eid next year.
