An FIR has been lodged today against
perfectionist Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao for the actor’s remark on intolerance.
The FIR was lodged by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha in Bihar's
Muzaffarpur district.
The FIR against Khan and his wife
was filed at Town police station in Muzaffarpur district by advocate Ojha under
sections 153 (Wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 153A
(Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place
of birth, residence, language, etc), 153B (Imputations, assertions prejudicial
to national-integration) and 154 (Sedition) of IPC.
The FIR was registered on chief judicial magistrate,
Muzaffarpur district, Sushma Trivedi's direction. Ojha claimed that the
actor's intolerance statement has hurt the sentiments of the people.
The ‘PK’ actor speaking at an event had said that a sense of insecurity and
fear has gripped the society and his wife Kiran Rao is so anxious that she even
suggested they move out of the country. Aamir in a way was supporting the group
of intelligentsia who had been returning their honours and awards in protest.
This
very statement of Aamir’s divided the nation into two and it invited huge criticism.
