A few months ago, there were reports that Bollywood
superstar Shah Rukh Khan and actress Alia Bhatt are being cast together in
filmmaker Gauri Shinde’s untitled project.
Now, further reports state that King Khan will be just
playing an extended cameo role in the film and not the lead as speculated
earlier.
“Contrary to rumours, Shah Rukh is not playing the lead. He
will only be seen in a cameo,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS. The
film has three male leads and one of them is from the South Indian film
industry. The makers are closely guarding the names of the lead actors, the source
added.
The untitled project is said to be a woman-centric film
which narrates the journey of a young girl played by Alia, who falls in love
thrice and learns a new life lesson each time she walks out of a relationship.
Alia had earlier expressed her excitement of sharing screen
space with the ‘Chennai Express’ star.
“It is a dream come true moment. He is one of the best and
respectable actors in the industry. I would get so much to learn from him. It
is a great learning opportunity for me," the ‘Highway’ actress had said
during a promotional event of her film ‘Shaandaar’.
The film will be Gauri’s second directorial venture after
her highly acclaimed 2012 film ‘English Vinglish’ which marked the comeback of actress
Sridevi after almost 15 years. It is being co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma
Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment.
