Actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana’s younger brother Aparshakti
will be making his Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan starrer ‘Dangal’. Aparshakti
started his career as a Radio Jockey in Delhi and is active on the theatre
front.
Aamir plays the role of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat in the
biopic, while Aparshakti will be seen in the role of Aamir’s nephew. It is said
that his bass voice from his experience as an RJ played a crucial role in
bagging him the role.
Speaking about his kid brother’s venture, Ayushmann said, “I
am happy. It is an amazing opportunity to work with Aamir. I did not give him
any tips. He is a very good actor himself. We had similar influences, but we
are different at the same time.”
“He is playing a Haryanvi guy in the film. He has captained
Haryana’s cricket team, so it comes naturally to him. He is a linguist himself.
I am looking forward to the film,” the ‘Vicky Donor’ actor told PTI.
Aparshakti was earlier expected to debut with Neeraj Pandey’s
production ‘Saat Uchakkey’.
The upcoming biographical sports drama is about Mahavir
Singh Phogat who coached his daughters and Indian women wrestlers Geeta and
Babita Kumari Phogat.
Popular television actress Sakshi Tanwar is cast in the role
of Aamir’s wife while Rajkumar Rao will play the role of a coach in the film.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Disney Studio
India, ‘Dangal’ is scheduled to release on December 23, 2016.
