Karisma Kapoor’s estranged husband Sunjay
Kapur has filed an application in the family court for the custody of their
children. This is the second time in a row that Sunjay has moved application in
court for his their kids’ custody.
He had
earlier withdrawn the application after he and Karisma decided to file for
divorce on mutual consent but few months back when the actress and Sunjay withdrawn
the petition of divorce on the grounds of mutual consent, Sunjay decided to
move the application of custody in the court again.
Sunjay’s lawyer filed the application
in the family court for the kids’ custody 15 days ago.
When mid-day contacted Kapur’s
lawyer Jalaja Nambiar, she refused to comment on the matter. But Sunjay’s
another advocate said, “It was 15 days ago that we had filed an application for
the custody of the two children, daughter Samaira and son Kiaan Raj who are
currently staying with Karisma.”
The advocate further informed that
Sunjay had filed the same application in the past but he later withdrew it as
both the parties filed for divorce on mutual consent, which included the terms
and conditions regarding the custody of the children.
But last month when the Karisma and
Sunjay refused to divorce on mutual grounds due to unresolved monetary issue, Sunjay
moved to court again.
When mid-day contacted Karisma’s
lawyer Kranti Sathe, she said that she had not received any official documents
regarding any application from the family court. Married to Sunjay in
2003, the couple is blessed with two children, Sameira and Kiaan Raj Kapoor.
